Are Trump and Clinton still leading in NY and Pennsylvania?
Despite the overwhelming support from younger voters and Sanders coming off winning streak in several primaries, polls show Clinton still holding a comfortable lead in NY with 291 delegates at stake. The Colorado convention is yet another example of how a superior campaign ground operation is slowly, but measurably cutting into Donald Trump’s lead as the Republican frontrunner.

Hillary Clinton campaigned in Syracuse and Rochester last week, while Republicans John Kasich spoke in Greece on Saturday, front-runner Donald Trump appeared in Rochester on Sunday, and Sen. Overall, the survey has Clinton and Sanders virtually tied.
Weaver thinks if Sanders can win a plurality of the elected “pledged” delegates, then many superdelegates will swing Sanders’ way. 39 percent responded that they have an unfavorable opinion of Sanders, while 48 percent said they have a favorable opinion of the self-described Democratic socialist.
“It is worth noting that a significant number of minority voters in New York City are undecided”.
“The system is rigged, folks”, said Trump, who spoke to more than 10,000 people in an Albany arena during a rally that was interrupted several times by protesters. About 25 percent of Republicans say they trust neither candidate on either of those issues.
The complaints call into question the integrity of the voting process at a time when the party could be working to unify behind its front-runner. “I think Hillary, she’s too mainstream government”. But that didn’t stop both Clinton and Sanders from setting up campaign offices and running television ads there. To clinch the nomination by the end of the primaries, a candidate needs 1,237 delegates.
Right there in that moment, Sanders lost half his support – at least the die-hard support from people who were ready to stand in freezing rain if need be on April 19 in NY or April 26 in Philadelphia to vote for him, and to come to Philadelphia in sweltering July to take the streets and demand that he get the Democratic Party’s nomination.
Sanders and Clinton are now heading to the NY primary, where the self-declared social democrat has been narrowing her lead in the polls.
Ted Cruz will be in California and has no events planned for our area. Clinton outscored Trump in every single category, though Trump trailed by less than 5 points on the economy, jobs, and handling the threat of ISIS. The Trump advisor, Alan Cobb, went on to say that if there had been a traditional primary “we would have done very well here”.
