Arian Foster among four Dolphins to kneel during national anthem

The move by the Dolphins, coming on 9/11, has upset some fans, especially when compared to the gesture the Seattle Seahawks made of standing arm-in-arm with each other.

Some of the Miami Dolphins, led by running back Arian Foster, planned to raise their fists while kneeling during the national anthem at today’s game, according to ESPN.

She also tweeted that the gesture of the National Football League players is unacceptable because they should be proud to be Americans especially on 9/11 when they should support each other.

Earlier in the day, Kansas City Chiefs cornerback Marcus Peters raised a fist during the national anthem prior to the game against the San Diego Chargers.

Baldwin said he didn’t want the Seahawks’ protest to be misconstrued as a lack of respect for military and law enforcement, especially on the anniversary of September 11, 2001, when so numerous first responders and others were killed in the harrowing terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center.

“I don’t necessarily see that as a solution to anything”, Foster said. This is Arian talking.

The Dolphins released a statement shortly after the national anthem.

One of the athletes who support the protest also tweeted to debunk Kate Upton’s claim that what they are doing is un-American.

Foster continued: “Would I not stand up for the pledge [of allegiance]? Me? No”. America is the land of the free and the home of the courageous, and its citizens have the right to stand or not during the National Anthem. Many people are up in arms on Twitter because Foster and others didn’t want to stand for the National Anthem on 9/11. We also recognize that it’s an individual’s right to reflect during the anthem in different ways. It’s not disrespectful to those who passed away 15 years ago or those fighting for our freedom.
