We knew Ariana Grande could do celebrity impressions, and we knew that she could sing. But she absolutely blew everyone away with a Whitney tribute on the live finale of “Greatest Hits” on August 4.
Check it out in the video above.
As usual, the pint-sized star’s vocals were seriously impressive.
Grande told her 40.5 million Twitter followers she was “honored to be paying homage to my angel”, who died in 2012 in a bathtub in Las Vegas. In a later tweet, she added, “Hope you’re smiling”.

“My musical inspiration.I love Madonna and…..I also love Imogen Heap and Whitney Houston and all the divas and…DJ Khaled…of course”, Grande responded. “Whitney holds such a special place in my heart”. I guess that shouldn’t be a surprise by now: Girl’s got talent. I’d watch The Bodyguard and tell my mom I wanted to do that one day. She’s moved past her Nickelodeon roots and into performance maturity, and she’s sort of done it without us realizing it was happening.
