Arianna Huffington is leaving The Huffington Post
Huffington will leave the company in coming weeks to run Thrive Global, a company focused on working with employers to improve the well-being of their staffers, the Wall Street Journal first reported. Huffington became invested in the endeavor after her own experiences with workplace exhaustion – suffering injuries after collapsing from lack of sleep several years ago.

Co-founded by the late Andrew Breitbart (of the conservative Breitbart.com), Jonah Peretti (founder of Buzzfeed) and Kenneth Lerer (founder of Thrillist, ) The Huffington Post has become a platform for mostly liberal politics, lifestyle, entertainment, business and media and technology news, with various global editions, original reporting, and celebrity contributors.
“For the past 11 years, The Huffington Post has been at the center of my life, and frankly I thought it would be my last act. But I’ve made a decision to step down as HuffPost’s editor-in-chief to run my new venture, Thrive Global”, she tweeted.
She also thanked her employees of The Huffington Post and tweeted: “I’m filled with gratitude”.
Huffington broke into the health business with a string of books focused on better living. “It became clear to me that I simply couldn’t do justice to both companies”. “I step down as editor-in-chief filled with gratitude for our fantastic HuffPost team and for what we’ve built together”.
