Arizona Campus Shooting Leaves One Dead, Three Injured

A few Delta Chi fraternity members were involved in the shooting, the Washington Post and other media reported. He ran to his auto and retrieved a handgun. But the chances of anyone getting killed or seriously injured would be greatly diminished – since it’s likely no one would have a weapon as risky as a firearm in the first place.

Neither Fowler nor NAU have identified any of the victims, other than saying they were all students.

An early morning shooting on Friday has shocked students and staff at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff.

Emergency medical personnel were on the scene a 1:33 a.m.

Brough was from Castle Rock, Colorado, about 30 miles south of downtown Denver.

A few NAU students were awake during the shooting, tweeting “stay safe” and “Pray for #NAU”. The name of the dead student has not been identified either, but that he was a freshman.

Police say the shooting erupted in a confrontation between two student groups.

Local and university police are conducting the ongoing investigation into the incident. Brough was killed. Three other male students were hurt.

Congresswoman Ann Kirkpatrick lives in Flagstaff.

The suspected shooter is in custody, according to a university spokesperson. The hospital said it couldn’t release any information on conditions.

The shooter was in custody, and the school was not on lockdown, university spokesman Cindy Brown told CNN. One person was killed and three people are being treated at the Flagstaff Medical Center.
