Arizona Cardinals Stun CenturyLink As They Take Down Seattle Seahawks 39-32

It used to be that quarterbacks like Palmer visited Seattle, folded a couple of times under pressure and got buried. The 33-point margin of victory for the Redskins was the team’s largest since beating San Francisco 52-17 in October 2005. The offensive penalties kept Seattle facing long-yardage situations, while the defensive penalties kept Arizona’s drives alive.
“A very hard loss to take”, said Seattle coach Pete Carroll.
Then again, this time in the fourth quarter, Palmer evades the rush by moving to his left, keeps his shoulders and feet squared at his target and hits Floyd for another first down.
The Cardinals managed to have two 100+ yard receivers as Larry Fitzgerald caught 10 passes for 130 yards while Michael Floyd caught seven passes for 113 yards and two touchdowns in the second quarter.
That’s exactly what happened, and Ellington cruised 48 yards for a touchdown, putting Arizona up, 39-29.
Arizona started the scoring on kicker Chandler Catanzaro’s 33-yard field goal. It’s why the Seahawks were down 19-0 at home in the first half. That was Wilson’s fourth fumble of the 2015 season. Yes, the pair of failed two-point tries was not the main reason they lost on this night, but they certainly did not help (along with Wilson giving up a safety to make it 5-0 earlier in the game).
The Cardinals said a few minutes after the play that he had a neck injury but had feeling and movement in his extremities when he left the stadium. They were flagged for 14 penalties that added up to 131 yards, while Arizona committed nine penalties for 71 yards. That included the go-ahead touchdown – two plays after Wagner’s penalty for illegal contact – with 8 minutes, 45 seconds remaining on the drive that immediately followed the Seahawks taking their first lead of the game at 29-25. Marshawn Lynch only had eight carries in the game and Seattle’s game plan never got started because of the penalty issues.
ST. LOUIS – Zach Miller caught two touchdown passes, including an 87-yard score that was Chicago’s longest play since 2010, and rookie Jeremy Langford also had two TDs.
When the Arizona Cardinals headed west in 1988, it had been five years since their last playoff appearance – and it would be another ten until they finally made a return trip to the postseason. The receiving group includes Doug Baldwin and Jermaine Kearse who have proven their worth with this Seahawks team, but are not able to be the main contributors at this point. Roethlisberger completed 22 of 33 passes as Pittsburgh won its second straight. Russell Wilson’s 2-point conversion pass was incomplete and Seattle trailed 25-23 with 14:44 left.
Whether it was coincidence or something else, the Seahawks’ defense looked like a completely different unit in the third quarter.
Seattle responded after halftime, controlling most of the third quarter and got the break it needed on the second play of the fourth quarter. Wright recovered the ball and advanced it to the ARZ 3 where he was ruled down by the officials.
OAKLAND, Calif. – Adrian Peterson ran for 203 yards and a touchdown in his record-tying sixth career 200-yard game, Cordarrelle Patterson returned a kick 93 yards for a score and Minnesota took over sole possession of first place in the NFC North by beating Oakland.
Then seven plays later, Wright slipped into the Cardinals backfield and slapped the ball out of Palmer’s hand with the ball then rolling to the SEA 22 yard line.
Considering how scary it was to see a 6-foot-5, listed-at-331-pound man down on the field to the point where an ambulance had to come on the field to take him away, the news about guard Mike Iupati was incredibly excellent after the game.
