Arizona Cardinals vs Cincinnati Bengals

“It’s not just another game”, Palmer admitted to the Cincinnati Enquirer.

One of the penalties – an illegal block in the back by Dre Kirkpatrick – wiped out a 41-yard punt return by Brandon Tate, and another – a holding penalty on Andre Smith – wiped out a nine-yard TD run by wide receiver Mohamed Sanu out of the “Wildcat” formation. While the Bengals ended up adding key members to their current team with the draft picks acquired in the trade, fans still view Palmer as a quitter who abandoned the team and, it’s clear a few players feel the same.

Oh, they did. It took just three precision passes – of 19, 18 and 20 yards – a spike and a kneel down, plus one preposterous foul when the Bengals were called for simulating the snap count – and the Cardinals had their chip-shot field goal and a 34-31 victory.

Ultimately, the Bengals gave Palmer too much time and he drove the Cardinals for the win.

The Cardinals have now won four in a row, and the Bengals have lost two in a row.

Run out of Oakland after “losing” the Palmer deal, Jackson landed on his feet in Cincinnati.

The Bengals overcame seven first-half penalties for 73 yards, several coming in key spots, to take a 14-7 halftime lead. At 8-2, the Cardinals are primed for that and maybe more, with a three-game lead in the NFC West and a clear path to Arizona’s first home playoff game since 2009.

Connor: With both Mike Iupati and Jonathan Cooper questionable for Sunday night’s action, will the Cardinals be able to stop the Bengals’ interior pass rush?

With quarterback Carson Palmer struggling to find his rhythm, Nelson had a quiet first half but the pair connected in spectacular fashion in the third quarter with a 64-yard touchdown. Marvin Lewis was baffled by the call and said Peko was shouting as his teammates to “get set”. They have a solid secondary. Andy (Dalton) is playing really, really well. They’ve got a huge and great wide receiver, good stable of backs.

While all of the rookies are part of a rotation in their position groups, they are all trying to make an impact while watching the others do the same.

This game and last week’s Seattle game should let the Cards know that they have to do something about their defense. Carson Palmer threw for four touchdown passes, J.J. He also did so with the Oakland Raiders in 2012.

Broncos 17, Bears 15: Brock Osweiler threw for two touchdowns in place of injury-riddled Peyton Manning, and Denver stopped Jeremy Langford on a 2-point conversion run in the final minute.

Palmer forced his way out of Cincinnati, holding out the first six games of the 2011 season and has had a career rebirth in Arizona.

The early-season optimism brought on by two convincing victories should have faded when quarterback Tony Romo sustained a broken clavicle, but instead it persisted as a result of the N.F.C. East. Cowboys players and fans steadfastly believe that there is no hole so deep that Romo can’t lead them out of.

Expect fireworks when the Cardinals and Bengals meet tonight on SNF.

Dalton and Cincinnati’s faithful can also rely on a defense that’s played very well despite the most recent loss.
