NAU’s lone win in the series was in 1932….

Quarterbacks: A. Hard to criticize much of anything for this group.

Anu Solomon had a great night, putting up 285 yards on 25 completions and had four touchdowns on top of that. Solomon threw for 231 yards and three touchdowns to add to his rushing score in the first half, while Nick Wilson put up 139 yards and two touchdowns on the ground. Arizona Wildcats, on the other hand, ranks No. 61 in rushing offense at home with 187.4 yards.

Running backs: A. No fumbles, no problems.

Olsen scored on a 19-yard run in the first quarter and then kept the ball again on the Thunderbirds’ next possession to slip in from the 1 for his second TD, capping a 55-yard drive.

Arizona wide receiver Samajie Grant (10) catches a touchdown pass… He’s thrown for 528 yards and five touchdowns with no interceptions in wins over Stephen F. Austin and New Mexico Highlands. Chalich also ran for a touchdown.

Woodrum completed 16 of 30 passes to become the second Liberty quarterback and third in Big South Conference history to surpass 8,000 yards.

TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) – For a little more than a quarter of the game, No. 20 Arizona was having all sorts of trouble with Northern Arizona.

Their 499 yards rushing broke the school record of 492 set against Eastern Michigan in 1988. Arizona lost All-American Scooby Wright in its opener, backup Cody Ippolito is out for the season with a torn ACL and Haden Gregory is also injured. The Wildcats, who cruised to a 44-20 victory at Nevada last week and open conference play next week against 12th-ranked UCLA, have one pretty simple goal for this one: stay healthy. That leaves the Wildcats reaching into the fourth string on the depth chart to Tre Tyler, who played through a sprained ankle last week.

What this loss means for Northern Arizona: Entering this game, the Lumberjacks were undefeated in two games against competition from their own division, but a matchup with an FBS foe turned into the expected drubbing. Denson especially had his ups and downs, getting a unnessecary roughness penalty in the first half, pass interference in the second and allowing NAU wideout Emmanuel Butler to score on 62 yard touchdown in the second quarter.

“This is a whole different level of game now”, Wildcats safety Anthony Lopez said.
