Ark now has a modding competition running, where creators can make new items, maps, game modes or whatever comes to mind and submit it for judging.
Studio Wildcard today released the ARK Dev Kit, a streamlined version of the UE4 Editor to simplify the creation and sharing process of mods for ARK: Survival Evolved .
Take a look at the rules and regulations for the ARK: Survival Evolved Modding Contest here.
Survival Evolved released just a couple of months ago and it has already gone on to be one of the biggest games of the year. There’s a lot to play for – the victor will be taking home $15,000, an Alienware Area-51 desktop PC and an NVIDIA GTX 980ti GPU.

That’s not all, though – to show off the power of the ARK:Survival Evolved developer tools, Studio Wildcard created a new “Survival of the Fittest” gamemode and total conversion mod, available through the Steam Workshop. Second place gets: $5,000 United States dollars, Alienware X51 Desktop, and a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 Graphics Card, third place gets: $2,500 USD and a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 Graphics Card. There are of course hostile creatures in the arena with the players but also Evolution Events that happen every thirty minutes like abnormal weather, air-dropped dinosaurs, day-night shifts, and even reveals of a player’s location. Will you be trying out the new modding tools?
