ARK Survival Evolved has sold 2 million copies on Steam Early Access
Online sandbox survival title (with a twist) ARK: Survival Evolved has hit a new sales milestone.

While I can’t say I like the Early Access model all that much, in the case of games like ARK and Rust, they wouldn’t exist otherwise.
We now have a figure for the popularity too. And now, just four months later, the dinosaur survival game has surpassed 2 million sales. The game has a fairly small dev team, so to see this success is encouraging.
Nonetheless, despite it’s initial issues, ARK: Survival Evolved has been updated frequently to ensure players have something to look forward. One of these is the totally-fake-but-awesome-sounding “Dodorex”, which will come to the game alongside zombie Dodos who are out for blood.
The game is slated for a June 2016 release, when it will have undoubtedly sold a lot more copies. New dinosaurs and ancient beasts are added on a regular basis, as well as bug fixes and strong communication with the community, which always helps a developer stay in the good graces of their player base.
Two weeks ago, ARK expanded significantly by adding two new biomes, snow and swamp, greatly increasing the scope and type of real estate and adding complexity to the environment and AI behavior.

I wish the team at Wildcard all the best.
