Arkansas fans are not happy with Bret Bielema

Arkansas Razorbacks coach Bret Bielema – seemingly taken aback by Texas Tech coach Kliff Kingsbury’s choice words on Saturday night – responded with a few subtle verbal jabs of his own Monday.

“Going through what they went through past year , there won’t be any letdown”, said head coach Kliff Kingsbury.

Kingsbury was fueled by comments the outspoken coach made over the summer summer to some Texas high school football coaches at a clinic about the spread vs. a traditional offense. “If that was an ass-kicking, I’d love to see what a year ago was”.

Bielema was making reference to the Razorbacks winning 49-28 against the Red Raiders last season in Lubbock. “If you coach them not to be soft, it doesn’t matter what offense you run”, said Holgorsen, whose team hosts Maryland on Saturday. “We’ve got our big game this week against TCU, so I really don’t even want to revisit it”.

It was the first question he took in Monday’s press conference saying in part “What is said is said and we are moving on to TCU”. He then reveled in Bielema getting “his ass kicked”, and predicted Texas A&M would do the same this week. “That did feel good”.

Bielema added he wasn’t referencing Kingsbury individually, but instead sharing his views of spread offenses. “He’s a prideful guy, and he says what’s on his mind, but it just hasn’t worked out for him”.

“We are 1-2 right now, but I think going into SEC play we are probably more prepared than we have been”, Bielema said.

“… I don’t know if he read all my notes or what, but it was like, ‘C’mon, brother”.

Kingsbury played high school football in Texas. I wasn’t defending anything. “We need to do it more”, Stoops said.

“I haven’t seen (Kingsbury’s comments), and I haven’t had them represented to me as anything that would violate our sportsmanship policy so I have no plans at this point” to take any disciplinary action against Kingsbury, Bowlsby said.

And Kingsbury made sure to let that fact be well known following the win, in which Texas Tech averaged 8.4 yards per play against an Arkansas team in disarray following losses to Toledo and on Saturday night.

– Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops said the Sooners spent more time practicing “Hail Mary” defense this year than ever before. “We’re talking about football here, not about you in particular or what you believe in.’ It is what it is”.

Kingsbury did confirm that he and Bielema shook hands after the game, refuting suggestions that the two ignored each other.
