Arkansas gets wild double-OT win over No. 15 TCU, 41-38
The TCU defense was expected to be the strong suit of the team but struggled big time in week 1. Bielema takes a three-pronged approach with each of his units working in concert to help the other.

So Arkansas running backs coach Reggie Mitchell knows his guys have a load to carry, points to score and a clock to run heading into their contest against the 15th ranked TCU Horned Frogs.
Kenny Hill has already won a game as a starting quarterback against Arkansas, and TCU has a victory over coach Bret Bielema even though the former Southwest Conference rivals last played a quarter-century ago.
The Razorbacks hold a 42-24-2 series victory, and pretty much dominated the last three decades the teams were in the Southwest Conference together. The piggies own a 30-3 record against the lizards with horns.
And for a lot of that time, TCU wasn’t a very good football team. However, after last season’s success on the road in the Southeastern Conference, Arkansas has proved it can win on the road.
The Horned Frogs gave up 461 yards and 41 points against South Dakota State last week. It is also a chance for the Frogs to put a quality win on their resume before they enter Big 12 play in the 2016 season.
Whichever team succeeds in stamping its preferred pace on today’s 6 p.m. game at Amon G. Carter Stadium should have the upper hand when the Razorbacks take on the Horned Frogs.
After two overtime period, Arkansas quarterback Austin Allen ran into the endzone giving the Hogs a 41-38 win.
After allowing only 14 sacks last season, Arkansas’ revamped offensive line struggled mightily against Louisiana Tech. Williams came in as the No. 1 overall Juco wide-receiver in the nation.
“For whatever reason we never saw them in a bowl game, we never scheduled ’em non-conference, so, it’s a great opportunity, and it’ll be loud here”, Denton predicts.
Bielema and Arkansas offensive line coach Kurt Anderson said several of the mistakes, and sacks, were a result of miscues by players not on the offensive line.
The Arkansas Razorbacks shocked number 15 TCU in a double overtime thriller Saturday night in front of a soldout crowd of 48,091 and national audience watching on ESPN. Boykin was just terrible in a redshirt sophomore season (2013), TCU coach Gary Patterson’s worst in his 16 in Fort Worth (4-8 overall), but in his last two years he was coached to his strengths by TCU’s brilliant offensive coordinating tandem of Doug Meacham and Sonny Cumbie. As a fifth year senior, expect McFarland to lead the charge on defense Saturday night. Seven days later, the script has been flipped. This unit had to replace a handful of key contributors from last year’s unit but didn’t miss a beat in the opener against South Dakota State. TCU is a 7-point favorite, according to Vegas Insider.
Based on the Razorbacks’ play last week, I’m not sure if Arkansas is up to the challenge of defeating TCU at Forth Worth just yet. “They’re really good at what they do and our job is to offset it; to throw them off”. “We are going to go with him”. These two teams have not met since 1991 and are scheduled to play again in Fayetteville in 2017. With Hill, who threw for 377 yards, rushed for 93 and combined for three touchdowns, playing at a high level, it’s still too early to count out TCU.

Denton, now part of the TCU broadcast team, was on the 1981 team that snapped that 22-game losing streak. Will the game be a close one at times?
