According to the school’s Facebook page, three men were seen near the student union with weapons.

Students and staff were advised to remain indoors and campus buildings were cleared while the incident was ongoing.

Jonesboro police and other agencies responded to the campus, where several people had reportedly been seen on campus with guns.

Spokesman Bill Smith says the students have been located and talked to, and there was apparently no gunman. The university lifted the lockdown about an hour later after authorities determined there was no threat. The university’s text and email alert system was used to notify students about the situation.
