Armed robbery suspect uses Uber as getaway auto
Dashawn Terrell Cochran, 23, ordered up a Lexus from the ride-sharing service and had it waiting for him outside of the store early Wednesday morning. The logistical nightmare that is using Uber as your getaway vehicle is just not worth the trouble. He allegedly grabbed a bottle of Tylenol cold medicine and headed to the counter.

Police said they released the driver and a second passenger after it determined they “had nothing to do with the robbery”.
Cochran ran from the store with an undisclosed amount of cash, but officers began to track his path, police said.
One suspected robber recently learned the hard way that Uber doesn’t exactly make the best getaway auto, however.
The man behind the wheel told police he was an Uber driver and had just picked up two passengers, including Cochran.
Cochran was arrested and charged with armed robbery, first-degree and second-degree assault, and theft less than $1,000.
As of this weekend, Cochran was still being held in police custody.

Uber has made a fortune connecting stranded pedestrians with private-hire cars, but has come under fire from taxi drivers. In case the vehicle was not stopped immediately, the plate number will give away the suspect’s route given that the auto is on Global Positioning System.
