Hillary Clinton today portrayed her Republican rival Donald Trump as a volatile and short-tempered man who can not be trusted with nuclear weapons as she scripted history by becoming the first woman presidential nominee of a major political party in the US. “This is a more fundamental choice – about who we are as a people, and whether we stay true to this great American experiment in self-government”.

It was very clear that on Wednesday night President Barack Obama, Vice President Joe Biden and VP candidate Tim Kaine were focused on energizing Democrats for the fall. “Russia, if you’re listening, I hope you’re able to find the 30,000 emails that are missing”, Trump said. “So when Bill announced his run for another term on Chelsea’s second birthday, I began calling myself Hillary Rodham Clinton”. She will lead the Democrats against Republican nominee Trump. With folksy charm, he ridiculed Trump’s list of promises and imitated one of the GOP candidate’s favorite phrases.

Trump once said, “I love the poorly educated”, and according to the survey, he has an advantage with voters over the age of 65 who did not attend college, leading Clinton 49 percent to 33 percent.
There were initial questions of whether it was even a good idea for Clinton to speak. She was a little surprised, but ultimately said yes – because she knew that what was at stake was bigger than either of us. For me, it will be up to the people of NY to decide whether I’ll have the privilege of serving them in the United States Senate.
Later she took issue with Trump’s comments about the military and his supposed superior knowledge about ISIS. “But I’m here to tell you tonight – progress is possible”.
“The America I know is decent and generous”.
Clinton also trained fire on Trump’s dystopian view of America.
At the same time, Clinton will have a prime-time opportunity to address Bernie Sanders loyalists who remain bitterly disappointed by the outcome of the primaries.

Democratic leaders have sought to tamp down lingering bitterness among some die-hard Sanders supporters, and move past unruly displays of dissent that marked the convention’s first day on Monday.
