The tragedy is believed to have happened during a family reunion party in a private open field near Fairfax.

California Highway Patrol officials said the 55-year-old man was riding the military-style tanker on a rural property in Fairfield Saturday. One of the men sitting on the front edge of the tank then fell off and was run over. He also couldn’t determine if there is an actual seat on the front of the armored vehicle or if the man was just holding on.

The victim was pronounced dead when the emergency services arrived.

The identity of the victim has not yet been released.

They did say, however, Dwayne Brasher, 62, was driving the vehicle at the time of the incident.

According to KTXL, property records show the land where the accident occurred belongs to Jelly Belly CEO Herman Rowland. Drugs or alcohol is not suspected to be a factor in the accident, the Highway Patrol said in a statement.
