Here’s what we learned from Saturday afternoon’s contest.

With the half drawing to a close, the Huskers special teams’ and kick returner De’Mornay Pierson-El saved the day with a 45-yard return, placing Nebraska at the OR 19-yard line.

Riley learned the 122-year history of the intra-state rivalry from his father, Bud Riley, who coached the OSU secondary and later was defensive coordinator; he lost once to the Ducks, in 1972. OR had driven inside Nebraska territory on their final possession before failing on a fourth down conversion attempt. The Bison have won the last five FCS national titles.

The No. 22 Oregon Ducks, as a whole, have rushed 24 times for 159 yards and three touchdowns as they lead Nebraska 20-14 at halftime from Memorial Stadium. So too did his family and friends.

It was a grind for both teams teams Saturday.

Nebraska, Adidas’ longest relationship with a college football program.

Royce Freeman still hasn’t entered the game since sitting on the sideline with an ice pack on his leg.

“They stayed with it – even though things didn’t go our way all the time”, Banker said. Five days later, Riley left his post to take over for Bo Pelini in Lincoln. “It’s about this team”, Riley said.

When it matters most, Langsdorf said afterward, the ball has to go to wide receiver Jordan Westerkamp.

It turned out he had one more run left in him.

Best believe it made a difference.

The Blackshirts came up big again on Oregon’s final drive, forcing a 4th-and-18 conversion attempt by Dakota Prukop and the Duck offense. On the whole, this was a less-than-encouraging effort from the Montana State transfer. Sep.

Only one minute remained in the first half when the Ducks lined up to punt the ball away.

If Oregon had successfully made extra points after each of its touchdowns, the score could have been tied 35-35 after Armstrong’s late heroics.

As he was propped up in the end zone, the Husker defense had to figure out how it was going to stop an OR offense that still had two and a half minutes to operate.

All three of the Ducks’ opponents this season scored a touchdown on their first drive of the second half.

– Tommy Armstrong Jr. completed a 22-yard pass to Bryan Reimers.

A forced three-and-out on the following drive poured gasoline on the crowd on hand. Devine Ozigbo slashed his way to the end zone to put Nebraska up by eight midway through the third quarter. The freshman finished 8 of 12 for 122 yards, including a 1-yard touchdown pass to Kyle Penniston with 7:25 left to give the Badgers the lead for good, 20-17.

After a four-yard run by Armstrong on the ensuing play, the senior quarterback from Cibolo, Texas, broke free for a 34-yard touchdown gallop that gave the Big Red a 35-32 win. “Just talking about our team, I am so proud of them”.

“Legs hurt, but they feel better when they are in the endzone”, Armstrong said.

“It’s awesome to have him out there as our quarterback”.

The Ducks trail 21-20 right now to Nebraska. “We’ll find out quick what we have”, Washington coach Chris Petersen said.

“I bring guys in to do certain things anyway”, OR running backs coach Gary Campbell said.

It was at once chaos and bliss for the Cornhusker faithful. OR racked up 56 yards on the ground, including a 20-yard dash down the sideline for Tony Brooks-James’ first score of the game. Kickoff is at 6:30 pm CT and will be carried on BTN.
