Army: 2 pilots killed in helicopter crash in rural Tennessee
As recently as 2009, four Fort Campbell soldiers were killed when their Blackhawk crashed in Colorado. Allen Hill said in a statement late Wednesday night that the AH-64D Apache helicopter went down during “a routine training mission” 12 miles south of the base.

The search began around 7:20 p.m. near the Dickson-Cheatham county line.
Multiple news media outlets are reporting that an Army helicopter has crashed in rural Tennessee.
The crash remains under investigation.
Among the 30 to 40 people on scene, were St. Bethlehem Volunteer Fire Department, Montgomery County Rescue Squad, Montgomery County Emergency Management, Montgomery County EMS and the Red Cross.
WTVF in Nashville Tweeted the crash was “fatal”.
Emergency crews are responding to reports of a downed military aircraft near the Cumberland River.

Between 1987 and 1999, seven Fort Campbell helicopter crashes resulted in 22 deaths and dozens of injuries in Tennessee, according to news accounts.
