Army Jawan dies during training, captain roughed up
“About four to five jawans got emotional and agitated on the death of their colleague and when being consoled by the adjutant, indulged in agitated behaviour leading to minor scuffle”, Army sources said on Sunday.

The army said there was no “mutiny-like” situation. He was checked by the medical officer and found fit.
In a similar incident, at the Nyoma sector of eastern Ladakh, in May 2012, jawans had attacked officers in an artillery unit during field firing following a confrontation.
Reports say that an entire unit was sent off for the march as a punishment.
The Hindu described the incident as a case of serious disciplinary breach in the ranks of the army. “The jawan later collapsed during route march – he was brought to the Field Ambulance where he succumbed”, the statement said.
The death of a soldier during a gruelling training exercise in 117 infantry units in Arunchal Pradesh today led to a face off between officers and the jawans that left at least one officer injured. It is NOT a case of any mutiny. In April 2010, there was a clash between officers and personnel of 45 Cavalry near Gurdaspur.
The officer further said that the incident is being investigated like all cases of death during training.

Army Headquarters in Delhi, while confirming the death of a jawan in the subsequent 10-km march, have denied that any other individual has been seriously injured. The Army also denied that reinforcement units had moved into the area when the situation was getting out of hand.
