Navy players celebrate their 21-14 victory over Army. Army has had a disappointing season and is riding a four game losing streak into their meeting with Navy on Saturday.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) – Army was a few plays away from ending Navy’s win streak in the patriotic series.
This year’s version, the 116 game in the series, took place at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, the 86 time the game has been played in the City of Brotherly Love.
A three-touchdown favorite, Navy had it tougher than usual in one of the most storied rivalries in college sports. Army’s defense stiffened, especially in the second half. Navy was able to pick up a quick first down, but the drive stalled at midfield after Dishan Romine slipped after receiving the pitch on 3 down and 3. Nice weather this weekend in Philly, and I think Navy puts the hurting on the Black Knights. Carter fumbled it back over to Navy on the very next snap with 8:33 left in the game. It was fantastic on defense, holding Army to 137 rushing yards on 44 carries.
Henry, a junior, ran for 1,986 yards and 23 touchdowns, breaking 1982 Heisman victor Herschel Walker’s Southeastern Conference record for rushing yards in a season; McCaffrey, a sophomore, eclipsed 1988 Heisman victor Barry Sanders’s major-college mark with 3,496 all-purpose yards this season; and Watson, also a sophomore, is the quarterback on the No. 1 team in the country.
Those are the type of stats a great rushing quarterback would put up by the end of the game, so that should tell you a bit about the type of player that Reynolds is. Yedidiah Louis caught nine passes for 119 yards and a touchdown, and Ladarius Brown caught five passes for 86 yards and two touchdowns for the Bearkats, who had 653 yards of offense and a school-record 37 first downs, compared to Colgate’s 327 yards and 19 first downs.
At 2-10, Army was not bowl eligible so its season is over. Early in the fourth, Army twice moved deep into Navy territory, but had nothing to show for it on the scoreboard.

“They’re a good second half team”, he said.
“(Former Navy coach) Paul Johnson always said that physical superiority cancels all theory, and he’s right.
Army had a chance late in the fourth quarter to take the lead, but an interception on a double-pass trick play followed by a failed Hail Mary attempt on the final drive sealed the victory for Navy.

Carter, whose first start came in a loss to Rutgers the last time Army took the field, gave his team’s offensive attack a rare aerial dimension, completing four passes, all to Poe, totaling 91 yards.
