Aroldis Chapman Traded to Chicago Cubs
The Yankees and Cubs reportedly have a deal that sends relief pitcher Aroldis Chapman to Chicago for four players.

Chapman is an impending free agent, and Rodney is under club control for another season, so the Marlins added the reliever that could be in their long-term plans.
After a domestic violence accusation nixed a deal to the Los Angeles Dodgers, Chapman was traded to NY and started the season on a 30-game suspension.
Chapman saved 146 games with a 2.17 ERA in six years with the Reds before he was traded to NY last December after a deal with the Los Angeles Dodgers fell through amid reports of the domestic violence incident.
The deal between the Cubs and Yankees involving closer Aroldis Chapman, first reported on Sunday, is complete according to Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports’ Today’s Knuckleball.
Despite trading for Chapman this off-season, the Yankees have chose to cash in on the talented reliever with the 100-mph fastball to get an infield prospect in Torres, who is hitting.275 with a.359 on-base percentage and.791 OPS. “Aroldis indicated he is comfortable with meeting those expectations”. “Easy because we traded from an area of strength and we are excited about the players that we’ve received for someone that obviously was only under control for two more months”.
Said Chapman: “I regret I did not exercise better judgment and for that I am truly sorry”. The 19-year-old Torres was the top-ranked prospect in the Cubs’ system and was ranked No. 27 overall in Baseball America’s Midseason Top 100 rankings. They already have baseball’s best record, 59-38, and a 7 ½-game lead in the NL Central.
“It was tough to give up what we gave up”, Epstein said after trading Class-A Myrtle Beach shortstop Gleyber Torres and three other players. They had lost five games this season when leading by two or fewer runs after the sixth inning, and were just 2-5 in games when tied after six innings. Torres, a shortstop, and McKinney, an outfielder, are considered to be among some of the best of the Cubs’ loaded farm system; Warren was a crucial swingman for the Yankees in his first three Major League Baseball seasons before getting traded to Chicago last December for Starlin Castro. He was hitting.275 with a.359 on-base percentage, a.791 OPS and nine homers at High-A Myrtle Beach.

The third piece the Yankees are getting back is former first-round draft pick Billy McKinney.
