A passerby found Chambers near her burning vehicle on a rural road in December 2014 and called 911.
Quinton Tellis is now in custody in Louisiana according to our sister CBS affiliate WREG.
A Grand Jury handed down a indictment in Jessica Chambers’ murder 14 months after her death.
Tellis is believed to have been the last person to have been with Chambers the night she was killed. Chambers was found outside of her burned out auto in December of 2014.
The only parts of his daughter’s body that weren’t scorched, he said, were the soles of her feet.
Jessica Chambers died soon after at a local hospital.
Officials in Panola County said the news conference is related to the Jessica Chambers case, but did not say specifically what they plan to release.
A store surveillance video appears to show Chambers pre-paying for gas.
The pair were allegedly in a relationship, having both attended South Panola High School in Panola County, according to the Clarion Ledger.
Tellis was living in Monroe with a new wife when Monroe police arrested him in the stabbing death of Meing-Chen Hsiao, 34, of Taiwan. Police say Hsiao had been stabbed to death in her apartment and the murder appeared to have been committed by someone she was close to.
That card belonged to a homicide victim but Tellis has not been charged in that individual’s death as of Tuesday. Police said he used a stolen Chase Bank debit card on three different occasions.
Tellis’ Facebook page indicates he married his fiancee on or around the day Hsiao’s body was found. He was imprisoned in January 2010 after being convicted on multiple charges of residential burglary as well as fleeing law enforcement. He was released on probation again in October 2014 and subsequently absconded supervision in August 2015.
