Arrest reported in execution-style killing of Chicago boy, 9

An arrest has been made in the execution-style murder of a 9-year-old Chicago boy who police say was targeted because of his father’s alleged gang ties, it was reported Friday. Chicago Police Superintendent Garry McCarthy announced a 10 a.m. news conference to formally announce the arrest and charges against Morgan.

Morgan is the same person questioned in the days following Lee’s death and later arrested on unrelated gun charges.

Morgan was ordered held on $1 million bond, but then released when he was able to post $100,000 in cash.

Cops have been hunting for Tyshawn Lee’s killer since his body was found in an alley close to his grandma’s house, next to his beloved basketball earlier thios month. Police said he was lured into the alley near 80th and Damen and shot several times.
