Two suspected Islamic State jihadists have reportedly been detained at Istanbul’s Ataturk airport.

Turkish authorities have detained two persons suspected of having links to Tuesday’s deadly attack on Ataturk Airport, the Anadolu News Agency said on Monday.

The pro-government Yeni Safak newspaper said two Islamic State suspects were believed to be hiding in woodland in the Yayladagi area of Turkey’s southern Hatay province and could be planning to change their appearance and joint rebel groups in Syria.

In turn, Turkey has blamed IS for several major bombings in the past year in Ankara and Istanbul. In total, the security forces have arrested 29 people so far in connection with the attacks.

The Chechen extremist Chatayev is identified as the mastermind behind the triple suicide bombing at Turkey’s Istanbul airport.

One of them, identified as a Russian citizen named as Smail A., said he stayed in a crowded house where he thought he would be able to read the Koran.
