According to “Arrow” Season 5’s official synopsis, as obtained by ComicBook, Oliver exclusively takes the place of protecting the people of Star City as Green Arrow.
All in all, the trailer indicates that Arrow will kick off with some killer action sequences and awesome stunt work to spice up a show that may feel somewhat empty without the original Team Arrow together.
It turns out that after Laurel’s (Katie Cassidy) death and the departure of Diggle (David Ramsey) and Thea (Willa Holland), Oliver will be taking matters into his own hands. The synopsis of the premiere episode reveals that the city is now overrun by both criminals and inexperienced vigilantes. Though he rejected the idea, the coming of Tobias Church (Chad L. Coleman), a unsafe criminal, in “Arrow” Season 5 makes him decide to form a new team of superheroes. Meanwhile, flashbacks of the series will take us to Russian Federation where Oliver will face Bratva.
So what, and who, ultimately inspires Oliver to form some sort of super-team? Television, with executive producers Greg Berlanti (“The Flash”, “Supergirl”), Marc Guggenheim (“Eli Stone”, “Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters”), Andrew Kreisberg (“The Flash”, “Supergirl”), Wendy Mericle (“Desperate Housewives”, “Eli Stone”) and Sarah Schechter (“Supergirl”, “Blindspot”).
It means that Arrow is going to be shaking things up and getting some new recruits this year, as witnessed in the trailers we’ll be seeing the likes of Wild Dog and Artemis join the team, while Curtis will also step up and become Mister Terrific. “He’s trying to figure out how he can get that sense of himself back after killing his brother”.
