Arsenal boss wants in-game ticket protest cancelled

Despite these top-four clashes taking top billing, there are still some games that look interesting on paper. “Give me points”, the Italian told reporters on Friday.

“You want everybody there when the game starts”.

It will be a significant moment when Wilshere and Cazorla are available again as they’ve been greatly missed over the past few months.

Liverpool fans walked out of their draw with Sunderland last weekend after 77 minutes, causing the club’s owners to change their plans for a £77 match ticket from next season. Wenger, however, does not believe empty seats would have an impact on the players’ mentality.

Leicester City is very lucky with injuries, or absence of them, so Ranieri will have his full crop of players to choose from for the trip to London.

“It’s not enough to be quick, you have to understand the game and how Vardy plays. The clubs have to support what the majority of fans want and it’s time to stand up for them”.

But the Frenchman added comparisons should not be drawn with some foreign clubs who charge less for tickets.

‘He is proving himself over and over and I hope he is at Arsenal for a long period because for any team to have a player who is willing to do the hard job then it makes it harder for the opposition to pass through your defence’.

“I think he is very close”, said Wenger. I looked at the comparisons, our cheapest prices are cheaper than anywhere in London. “For example, Bayern Munich paid one euro for their ground whereas we paid 128 million pounds for our ground”.

“In France they pay nothing at all for their stadium, they pay nothing at all for their maintenance”.

Howevers, Gilberto Silva feels that 2017 would not be the end of Wenger’s reign at Arsenal, and that the 66-year-old can still go on at the helm of affairs at the club.

Liverpool, dumped out of the FA Cup by West Ham United in midweek and rocked by their fans’ recent walkout over ticket prices, could also do with a morale-boosting win when they face bottom-of-the-table Aston Villa. Where is the right level?

And, with the game being played on Valentine’s Day, Wenger admits there is a hint of romanticism to the Foxes’ surge up the table after being rock bottom on their last visit to Arsenal.

“You have to find a compromise where everybody is happy”, he said.
