Arsenal boss Wenger hints at striker purchase

Didier Drogba remains a unsafe player who continues to haunt Arsenal, Arsene Wenger said after the 38-year-old scored against the Gunners yet again. But it was good to see that we were in good shape.

Theo Walcott, playing centre-forward, blew several promising chances on the counter attack, including spoiling a lovely pass from Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, who was impressive throughout.

Rob Holding admitted he had suffered a case of the pre-match jitters before his first match in an Arsenal shirt but is convinced he did enough to make a decent impression on Arsene Wenger. On Wednesday, he was filmed singing an initiation song to his teammates at the team hotel and new teammate Jack Wilshere spoke highly of the central midfielder in an interview with Arsenal’s official website. “His passing was clean and technically he did well”.

Arsene Wenger believes Didier Drogba is still a danger after the 38-year-old scored in the MLS All-Star game.

“I thought he was going to score”, the USA midfielder said. Overall, I believe that his first game was encouraging. he reads the game and understands what’s going on, anticipates well. Drogba ultimately got three cracks at goal before finally scoring.

After receiving a throughball from Dos Santos, Drogba bundled the ball into the back of the net after his initial shot was saved by Cech and blocked on the line. The players see the game as a measuring stick as to how far they’ve come in growing MLS, but most importantly, they want to win.

“If he does, he’ll probably text me a video of the goal for a year”, Petr Cech said two days before his English Premier League team competed in the 2016 MLS All-Star game. What will our best be? “I don’t think we need to step out on the field and prove anything”.

“In the Premier League, every club is hugely ambitious”. You look at the checks that everybody signs, and it’s quite scary.

“At the moment I have not too many attacking options in terms of experienced players”, Wenger said following Arsenal’s 2-1 win over the MLS All-Stars in San Jose.
