Their last victory came in 2013 against Jurgen Klopp’s Borussia Dortmund at Wembley, but two comfortable wins so far have shown they’re not messing about like Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal have been.
‘We will still play them twice, ‘ the German is quoted in the Daily Star. “Our goal is to win the Premier League and I think that this season it’s possible to do it, if we all stay healthy”.
Mesut Ozil is sure that Arsenal can beat Bayern Munich in the Champions League and believes his side’s recent 3-0 drubbing of Manchester United proves why.
“Although we respect Bayern, we don’t fear them”.
The Gunners have moved up to second in the table, two points behind leaders Manchester City, after beating Manchester United 3-0 at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.
“As a team you try and remind yourself of what you can achieve and you could see that we have a lot of confidence”. We are playing at home [for the first game].
“We have a super team with a lot of world-class players”, he told Bild.
“Of course, it will not be easy, but we have the potential to beat any team”. Inside the dressing room we knew we could do good things this season.
Özil added that the United match had shown Arsenal can also provide a real test for Bayern Munich in the Champions League on 20 October, despite their intimidating form.
