Both the London teams were involved in an ugly on-field spat in the first half, and related to the incident involving Diego Costa, Laurent Koscielny and Gabriel Paulista.
The game was controversial and eventually saw Diego Costa slapped with a retrospective ban, as Chelsea won 2-0 and Arsenal finished the match with nine men.
“Following an Independent Regulatory Commission hearing, Chelsea and Arsenal have been fined £40,000 and £30,000 respectively and warned as to their future conduct after both clubs admitted a breach of FA Rule E20”, read a statement on the FA website.
The Blues have been slapped with a £40,000 fine, while the Gunners will have to pay £30,000. The FA has since revoked the card.
The discrepancy between the two sanctions was down to the previous disciplinary records of both clubs, the FA said.

Costa, 26, received his ban for violent conduct after appearing to put his hand in Arsenal defender Laurent Koscielny’s face, an incident which referee Mike Dean missed.
