Arsenal in injury crisis ahead of EPL opener

Arsenal became an nearly unstoppable force under Wenger; the French manager has been at the helm for nearly 20 years now and contributed to the club’s success by guiding them to three Premier League titles, including an unbeaten season – a feat yet to be matched by any other club in the league.

Per Mertesacker suffered a serious knee injury during the preseason which will keep him out until 2017, with Gabriel Paulista recently being ruled out for 6-8 weeks.

Speaking to reporters, Wenger said he felt “regret and guilt” over losing the Premier League title to Leicester City. You’ve got to be confident and believe in yourself as a player.

Arsene Wenger sent the hopes of the Gunners’ faithful sky high when he splashed out £34 million for Granit Xhaka before this summer’s European Championships in France.

“When you lose only three games in a season in a hard league like that, you are a fantastic champion”.

‘Arsenal have always stuck by their manager and I don’t see [Wenger being sacked] unless there is an absolute disaster of all disasters. “But they had an exceptional season and you have to congratulate them”.

Premier League outfit Arsenal are reportedly considering a shock move for one of Africa’s star strikers.

Because with the Emirates Stadium outfit now boasting enough sums of money to sign some of the players their rivals have, why would you choose to not invest more freely?

This comes on the heels of comments made earlier today at the Premier League’s media day ahead of the opening weekend.

Discussing links to the England job following the departure of Roy Hodgson after a dismal Euro 2016 campaign, Wenger said: “I think I have shown that I respect my contracts and I respect loyalty highly”.

He said, “I was not available and Sam Allardyce has signed for two years, so the question is not of any actuality at the moment”.

“My body can do most things, it just can’t go into ridiculous challenges. I think he really feels he can win something and do something special with this team”.
