Arsenal legend Martin Keown sad about Jack Wilshere’s Bournemouth move

Per the source, the Gunners want to loan Wilshere out in order for him to lock down a regular first-team role and regain form after spending most of last season out injured. “Jack is on his own in terms of profile and that is the type of player we can now attract”.

The 24-year-old took part in his first training session with the Cherries after completing the deal just ahead of the closure of the transfer window late on Wednesday evening.

Wilshere lauded his move as his best opportunity to develop outside the Emirates.

“Jack is a fantastic addition to the club”, Bournemouth chief executive Neill Blake said after Wilshere was pictured holding up the club’s red and black striped shirt outside their Dean Court stadium.

Wilshere famously went on loan to Bolton back in 2010, where his displays established him as one of English football’s brightest prospects. We will work very hard to showcase him in the best way.

Their sporting director Frank Baumann spoke on Tuesday of his confidence the winger’s arrival was imminent, and after the signing was confirmed said: “We are delighted that Serge has chose to sign for us, even though he had a number of different options”.

Wilshere met Bournemouth officials including Howe on Tuesday, and also held a similar meeting with Palace and manager Alan Pardew.

The England global has been plagued by injuries in recent seasons and played only three times in the Premier League for Arsenal last season after suffering a fracture just prior to the start of the campaign. Someone who is regarded as one of the best in his position.
