Arsenal looked like they were ‘fighting a losing battle’ against Tottenham
Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino singled out both Harry Kane and Erik Lamela for praise following the pair’s performances in Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Arsenal.

Gibbs evaded the attentions of full-back Kyle Walker at the far post to meet Ozil’s inswinging cross and, although his effort was initially saved by Lloris, the ball looped up and over the stricken Frenchman.
“Before that, Tottenham’s midfield players had just bossed the Arsenal midfield”.
Arsenal’s defense, as so often, was spongy in the first half and was easily penetrated in the 32nd minute by a resurgent Kane scoring his sixth goal in four games.
However, Pochettino believed his side were unlucky not to grab all three points after creating more chances and keeping the likes of Alexis Sanchez and Olivier Giroud quiet during the clash, while Kane and Lamela troubled the host with their attacking movement.
“Every time we have a dissspointment I feel we respond well in the game after”. And Tottenham is a good side when you play with one player less and you have to make the game …and so in the offensive build-up Ozil was a bit isolated in the first half with not many options. It’s true we concede a few chances but my feeling is we deserved to win the game.
“We were a bit on the ropes and we responded”, he added.
“It was my first time playing here, I wanted to score so badly and wanted to win”. When you see a player who is happy to miss chances, you can worry. He is a real goalscorer, and I think he did fight. You think maybe he will get better but I took him off and then we were better balanced. “Arsenal kept coming and they got their goal in the end”.
“We’re struggling with injuries at the moment, players were exhausted from midweek”.
Tottenham are unbeaten in 11 Premier League games following a 1-0 defeat by Manchester United on the opening day of the season.
“We want to be involved throughout the season, competing at the top until the last second”, the German defender told the official Arsenal website.

‘I fully expect them to be challenging for the title in the final weeks of the season’.
