Arsenal make play for Leicester City and England striker Jamie Vardy
In addition to activating his release clause, Arsenal are reportedly prepared to offer Vardy lucrative personal terms in order to convince him to leave the reigning Premier League champions.

Arsenal are said to be ready to offer around £120,000 per week on a three-year deal as they look to go one better than last season’s runners-up spot behind the Foxes while also staying ahead of the likes of Manchester City and Chelsea, who will both have new managers.
Jamie Vardy’s wife Rebekah has taken to social media to insist that she will not have any say on where the striker will be playing his football next season.
The former Halifax and Fleetwood striker has enjoyed a rapid rise to the top of the game and signed a new contract in February as Leicester rewarded him for driving their title bid. I think we can be complimentary.
He added: “As I said in the past I am happy with competition”.
Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud has once again brought up the form of his teammate Mesut Ozil when questioned on his own performances in the Premier League since the turn of the year.
But Express Sport understands Vardy, who is in France with England, will now decide his future after Euro 2016.
It will be an incredibly tight turnaround for both the player and Arsenal but all parties are now confident the paperwork can be finalised by Monday at the latest.
Should Arsenal secure the services of Vardy, it will be their second signing of the summer after they agreed to a £30 million deal for VfL Borussia Mönchengladbach midfielder Granit Xhaka.

Vardy scored 24 league goals last season as Leicester won the top-flight crown for the first time in their history, and was voted as the Footballer of the Year by the Football Writers’ Association.
