Arsenal respond to Mesut Ozil quit stories
The Londoners are keen to tie down first-teamers aged under 30 to long-term contracts and the Ozil contract situation is one of the main ones on their radar.

As if Arsenal fans were not anxious enough going into this weekend’s Premier League title showdown with Leicester City, reports in Spain and Germany have offered the worst possible news.
But an Arsenal insider pointed out that, as yet, there have been no detailed talks between Ozil and the club about a new contract to extend a deal that still has two and half years to run.
Marca also claim that Barcelona have made contact with the World Cup winner’s agent and are willing to test Ozil’s resolve with the lure of greater Champions League success if Arsenal fail to compete. “It is also correct that there are inquiries for him constantly”. “Mesut is a world champion, the most creative player in Europe, Germany’s top player-so it is clear that top clubs show their interest in him”.
The German does have all the features befitting of a Barcelona player. Critically, there is an end product to his play too, with 16 assists and four goals in the Premier League this campaign.
No, he’s not the kind of player the team needs.. They’ll have an extra man in midfield, so should have passing options, but whenever Mesut Ozil picks the ball up he’ll be aware Kante and Drinkwater will be breathing down his neck. They’ll want plenty more from their record signing.

The former Real Madrid midfielder’s current deal with the Gunners expires in 2018.
