“The first half we did well, scored three goals and could have scored more”, the keeper reflected.

After a brief bright spell from the hosts, Arsenal (1-1-1) struck on the break as Theo Walcott delivered a mouth-watering cross for Sanchez to bundle.

Xhaka had the most impressive game of his fledgling Arsenal career at the base of midfield at Vicarage Road – a performance which led Wenger to compare the Switzerland worldwide to Emmanuel Petit.

Watford pulled a goal back in the 57th minute when the ball dropped to Roberto Pereyra, who fired into the far corner to mark his debut with a goal.

It looked like job done for Arsenal and that’s how Arsene Wenger’s side paid for much of the second half. We were 3-0 up at half-time and in the second half we still created many chances but we missed something in the final ball, like we did at Leicester. So, they will also try to kickstart their season with a win this weekend and so, we can easily expect a neck to neck fight for this game.

Arsenal did not look like a fearful side though in the opening stages as they dominated possession in a confident manner. So it’s very important to play together and we are happy to play with him.

ARSENE WENGER DENIED Arsenal’s expected signings are panic buys as he gets set to welcome Lucas Perez and Shkodran Mustafi to the Emirates Stadium. Everything was positive, so I was convinced very fast.

Two teams square off in Watford hoping to get their first win of the season.

“We are working and the results will come”.

“A lot of players are new so we have to prepare later”. “We have not got any plans for anyone else now”.

Watford face an FA fine for having been shown six yellow cards against Arsenal. “The organisational things are still missing and two starting players were out last-minute and this really didn’t help”, Mazzarri said.
