Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has confirmed he will be without Gabriel for the first two months of the new Premier League season due to an ankle injury.

‘It’s an ankle sprain, we just need to know how serious.

Wenger was more analytical in his response, revealing the four main components behind a transfer fee and why we have witnessed the £100m barrier being smashed for the first time.

“We are in the transfer market and on one side we are focused and concentrated on the players we have to get them in a fantastic shape. It is a bit better than we feared at the start”, Wenger said confirming Gabriel’s injury on Wednesday.

Koscielny played for France at Euro 2016, featuring in the final defeat by Portugal, and has only just returned to training with Wenger reluctant to put him straight in the team.

Liverpool trio Daniel Sturridge, James Milner and Marko Grujic are all facing a race against time to be considered for the Premier League opener against Arsenal at The Emirates.

Lukas Klostermann is now on global duty with his country at the 2016 Olympics and would still not be able to start the Premier League if a deal goes through.

Per Mertesacker, meanwhile, is out for months with a knee injury, leaving 21-year-old Calum Chambers as their most experienced option. They’re still waiting for a couple more signings that would really make the fans feel more confident. Maybe the Premier League is more even than ever.

No amount of analysis factors in potential injuries, and Gabriel’s pre season crocking in Gothenburg illustrates this clearly. He could also decide to move Nacho Monreal into the middle and play Kieran Gibbs on the left.
