Arsene Wenger has won more Premier League matches at Arsenal (459 of 794 games) than the other 19 managers in the competition have won in the competition at their current clubs combined.
Wenger, however, provided better news regarding Jack Wilshere after revealing that the England worldwide is closing in on a return to action. He’s definitely the preferred forward instead of Giroud, the play seems to be a lot faster with him in the line-up.
England forward Welbeck struck in either half and also played his part in an Alexandre Lacazette goal at the Emirates Stadium as Arsenal recovered from their thrashing at Liverpool before the worldwide break.
He is now fully fit and he scored his first league brace since playing for Manchester United in 2013, as well as laying on an assist for Alexandre Lacazette, in a straightforward 3-0 win over the Cherries.
Arsenal were on the ascendency and tested the Bournemouth keeper through a Granit Xhaka shot from outside the box.
Arsenal defeated Bournemouth 3-0 on Saturday to move up to eighth in the Premier League standings with their first win in three matches.
He was replaced by Jordon Ibe.
While Bournemouth were slightly fortunate to escape a penalty award as Adam Smith handled Ozil’s volley, the visitors regrouped at the break and initially threatened as Jermain Defoe crashed a header against the post.
Pascal Gross hooked the ball in at the far post to put the Seagulls in front on the stroke of half-time for what was their first goal since being promoted. Defoe then showed his anticipation to be as sharp as ever after the ball rebounded back to him by firing a shot back in which flew narrowly wide.
Aaron Ramsey then drives forward, laying off Danny Welbeck on the left, who shoots from a tight angle into the far corner.
He got just about enough on the ball to send it past Asmir Begovic and give Arsenal a sixth-minute lead as the hosts took control.
Sanchez played the final 15 minutes of Arsenal’s 3-0 win against Bournemouth.
With the game effectively won – despite memories of that insane 3-3 in the south coast at the start of the new year – the rest of the second half was played at a slower pace.
The 28-year-old entered the fray to be greeted by a number of whistles and jeers but his manager is confident it won’t be long before the boo boys are chanting his name in appreciation again.
Alexis Sanchez came on as a 75th minute sub to a few boos from the crowd but he nearly made an immediate impact, slipping a pass into the path of fellow sub Olivier Giroud, who shot was saved by Begovic.
