Arsenal’s summer of frustration could soon be over as new signings imminent
In fairness to Wenger, the deal for Mustafi has been rumbling on all summer long with Valencia driving a hard bargain and Arsenal finally agreeing to pay $46.2 million for the 24-year-old German worldwide.

Striker Perez, 27, who will move to the Emirates from Deportivo La Coruna for a reported fee of £17.1m, will link up with the Gunners’ squad as soon as the deal is finalised.
The Frenchman saw his side win their first game of the season at Vicarage Road this afternoon, with Alexis Sanchez starring in a 3-1 romp.
Having chased the 24-year-old for weeks, Arsene Wenger will be hopeful that a deal can be done before the transfer deadline next week.
“They will integrate into the team now and we will help them join squad”. They have both had medicals and we just have to finish the paper work. “We have not got any plans for anyone else now”.
With Granit Xhaka the only major signing of the summer transfer window to date, Arsenal fans have been vocal in their cricitism of Wenger and his refusal to match the spending of the club’s Premier League rivals.
He added: “It’s important that a player who comes from Bolton, comes to a club where he concedes four goals in the first game at home, he has to play under huge pressure at Leicester and today he performs the way he does”.
“Look at my face, is it the face of somebody who does a panic buy?” “He is a late developer, he played in a different position”. And I think when I told you the transfer is linked of course with talent, the expected strength, but as well with resale.

However, there was more good news for Arsenal supporters on Saturday evening as Wenger revealed that Valencia centre-half Mustafi and Deportivo striker Perez have both passed medicals at the 2014 and 2015 FA Cup winners. “But my job is to make the right decisions, if that is exactly similar to the contract of the players and that maintains the supporters being happy – that is better still”.
