Arsenal Target Mauro Icardi Claimed To Want Napoli Move

But Ausilio claims the striker will still be at the San Siro next season.

The Azzurri’s main targets are Icardi or Morata, but it’s not easy to sign one of the two 1993 strikers since Inter and Real Madrid are not really keen to sell them.

President Aurelio De Laurentiis and sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli are thought to be at the meeting, along with intermediaries Ulisse Savini and Pino Letterio, as well as Icardi’s wife and agent, Wanda.

Much would depend on what happens with Mauro Icardi, who could (albeit unlikely) leave Inter himself with him being linked with Premier League club Arsenal as well as Napoli, who are said to have offered €30m along with Gabbiadini. The Naples-based club is set to lose Gonzalo Higuain to Juventus and with that money earned from the sale of the player, the club is ready to go after Mauro Icardi. Our idea is to strengthen the team and the club strengthens by keeping its top players.

Various sources have leaked reported details of the offer, as noted by Football Italia, with suggestions that Icardi will be offered a deal worth €5m per year, with additional bonuses to be added on too along with 50 per cent of his image rights. Icardi does not have a release clause and we do not want to sell; simple.

Ausilio insisted: “There are no problems with the player”. He is working well, he has been with us for years and became captain of an important team with a glorious past.

“We’ve always paid attention to his requests. We renewed a year ago, adjusting the contract and giving him the captain’s armband”.
