19-year-old Iwobi, who scored his first senior goal in the victory against Everton, has featured twice for Nigeria’s senior team this season but he isn’t officially tied to them until he plays a competitive match- which could take place on Friday.
However, our landlord believes Iwobi should stick with Nigeria as he’ll get much more opportunities- a sentiment many fans in the bar agree with.
According to the Evening Standard, rave of the moment Alex Iwobi is set to receive a 1000% pay increase by Arsenal despite signing an extension just five months ago.
Henry described Iwobi as a player with great spirit and a great attitude saying, “Iwobi plays with a smile on his face, he’s never late for training and he is a conscientious young man. You might expect that to be a given for any young footballer but sadly that’s not the case in the modern game”.
‘That’s why he deserves everything he’s got this past week.
The 19-year-old has begun to establish himself in Arsenal’s first team in recent weeks, having started in three of their last four fixtures.

Hector Bellerin, who played with Iwobi at youth team level and provided the assist for his goal at Goodison Park, said: “I’ve always been next to him since the academy so it is nice to see how players come and graduate into the first team”. You’d also have to say his performances have pushed him to the front of the queue ahead of a few more established stars’.
