Ahead of their Premier League opener against Liverpool this weekend, the Gunners have a plethora of injuries in their defence.

“There are a few small things that we have to work on”, the 24-year-old told Arsenal Player.

“Of course we are frustrated but I’ve never seen an intelligent accident”.

The Brazilian is set to miss the next six weeks, while Laurent Koscielny has returned without playing any games in pre-season as he was on an extended break following his participation with France in Euro 2016.

“I’ve said many times that we are in the market”, he said, in quotes reported by Arsenal’s official website.

However, Wenger’s latest update casts doubt over Wilshere’s availability for the big kick off as the Arsenal boss offers no indication that the midfielder is on the verge of returning to action from his latest injury.

Walcott said he had held “a lot of conversations” with manager Arsene Wenger about where he wanted to play.

The France global, who helped his side reach the final of the Euros in Paris, was joined on the training ground on Wednesday by compatriot Olivier Giroud and Germany’s Mesut Ozil.

In a chat with arsenal.com, Iwobi praised the team’s performances in their pre-season games, stating that they can’t wait for the new season to start.

Alternatively, Wenger could move Nacho Monreal inside from left back.

“Maybe the Premier League is more even than ever”. Let’s hope we have good news from Gabriel.
