Arsene Wenger admits Arsenal were ‘on edge’ before beating Swansea City

There was a sense of unfamiliarity about Arsenal’s third goal against Swansea.

Ibrahimovic has scored seven league goals in seven appearances this season.

Joel Campbell has spoken of his joy at scoring on his first Premier League start for Arsenal during Saturday’s 3-0 win at Swansea City.

The Costa Rica worldwide has struggled to make an impact at Arsenal since his move to the club in 2011, sent out on loan to numerous clubs after his arrival. It’s easy to not believe he is only 23.

Arsene Wenger joked about a dentist being present during a press conference as he discussed Arsenal’s injury woes.

However, Wenger would have been delighted with the impact made by Campbell, who looked like a real threat cutting in from the right flank with his left foot. I always say, that when you get the chance, you’ve got to take it. That’s what he’s done.

People calling for new signings from Wenger this summer have been given a taste of what the Gunners still possess in their reserves by Campbell.

“I wanted to keep him here”.

Coquelin – 6. Not one of those days where we needed to see the best of Le Coq, but he was sound.

But the attacker’s union on Match of the Day were slightly less sympathetic to the Pole, even though they played for Arsenal’s big rivals, Tottenham and Chelsea.

“I never let him go as I feel he is a good player and on top of that he is a team player”, Wenger said.

With Walcott now ruled out for the majority of November, Campbell should be given enough opportunities to have a similar, if not larger, impact on Arsenal’s season to Wreh.

The Gunners had to ride their luck minutes later when Jonjo Shelvey threaded a delightful ball into the path of Bafetimbi Gomis, who to the surprise of the Arsenal back four, found himself with only Petr Cech to beat.

“I will score the 2,000th one myself!”

Confidence is soaring at Arsenal, but not to the extent that they think they can go to Bayern Munich and attack at will. On Wednesday, Wenger’s side will attempt to continue their Champions League recovery by beating the German champions again, but the manager admits he would settle for a draw.

“The fourth official told me to “Shut up” or I’ll be sent off”. Swansea though have played quite well at times in the those two months and have just one loss at home this season and that was a 1-0 loss to Stoke a couple of weeks back in a game that Swansea dominated but just could not find the net.

“We know that when we are at our best we can give anyone a game in this league and we’ll need to be at that level on Saturday”.
