Arsene Wenger admits chances of qualifying for Champions League
Beaten five times on a humbling night in Munich on Wednesday, Arsenal goalkeeper Petr Cech says the London club can still qualify for the Champions League last 16 despite being bottom of Group F with two games left to play.

“It’s tough to take but in a way you have to accept that the team you were playing against was superior to us today in everything they did, especially in the first half”.
Arsene Wenger has criticised his side’s defensive performance in their 5-1 drubbing by Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena in the Champions League this evening.
“We now have to focus on the Premier League on Sunday and bounce back with a different performance because we are in a good position in the league. But it will certainly not remain in my memory for anything positive”. Now we must win our game against Olympiacos to finish top of the group.
“I think we have to realise with that kind of performance like today, our chances are very minimal”. In addition they must hope that the Greek side lose their game with Bayern in three weeks time.
Wenger was scathing of Arsenal’s defensive performance and did not attempt to use the absence of nine players through injury as an excuse. Wenger understands that it is a long shot for the Gunners to qualify, but admits that there is still a real chance to progress, if they perform to their optimum level.
Arsenal must now turn their attentions to the north London derby this coming Sunday, which will be another test of their resolve. In the second-half we improved, we had more chances and we played with more risks which meant they could score two more late in the game. We never looked like a team who recently played as a unit. “We’ve been through even more hard periods, so it’s not over”.
Elsewhere, Chelsea without Mikel Obi secured a slim 2-1 win over Dynamo Kiev while in Greece Brown Ideye was in the thick of action as Olympiakos etched closer to qualifying for the next phase of the Champions League folwoing their 2-1 win over Dinamo Zagreb.
“They have the same points as us so you can be sure we are going to try”.

“We lost a few easy balls in the first 10 minutes, but we found it easier at 1-0 up and kept getting better with the fans behind us”.
