The duo were in London on Friday to undergo medicals which have now been completed with just the final paperwork to be concluded before the deals can be ratified.

Everton are still hopeful that they will be able to finalize the deal with Lucas Perez Martinez, but Arsenal are desperate to sign a striker this summer and see the player as a flawless alternative to their missed target Jamie Vardy.

Mustafi and Perez are expected to complete Wenger’s transfer business in terms of incomings, but the Arsenal boss predicted a very busy end to the window for other Premier League clubs.

Local newspaper La Voz De Galicia reported Arsenal have agreed to meet the 20 million euros (£17.1million) buy-out clause in Lucas’ contract, and that the move was hours away from completion.

Arsenal blew a massive opportunity to win the Premier League last season, and fans were quick to take their anger out on Wenger, whose reluctance to spend has cost them big over the years.

And now bookmakers BetStars are confident Arsene Wenger will follow up their arrivals with Brahimi, who is said to be available for £40million this summer. “If that makes supporters happy then even better, but my focus is on making right decisions for the club”. “But my job is to make the right decisions for the club. Because the longer I wait, the more hard it will be to lose the addiction”, Wenger said, in a new book, Game Changers, by former Charlton boss Alex Curbishley. Not a lot has happened.

Those deals would fulfil Wenger’s pledge to bring in three new first-team players this summer, including a striker and centre-back, after also buying holding midfielder Granit Xhaka in May.

“Future? No, ” he said when asked if Chambers’ future would be affected by the signing of Mustafi, adding: “The fact that he could go out somewhere and play?”

“It looks like it will be frenetic in the last three days, everyone has sat on money but we know they will all splash out now”. The Gunners suffered a 4-3 defeat at the hands of Liverpool in the first match, while settled for a goalless draw against Leicester City at the King Power Stadium.

“After Alex [Ferguson] retired and we played them over there he sent a message to me to come up and have a drink with him”.

He said: “I’m very angry because we can’t see the danger of teams when we go ahead”.
