Arsene Wenger insists he’ll spend in January
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger says he will be busy in the January transfer window as he seeks reinforcements to keep the Gunners on top of the Premier League.

Having now strengthened his midfield with the signing of Elneny, Wenger will be looking to bolster his attacking lineup next and many reports have claimed that the Arsenal boss has identified Bayer Leverkusen star Javier Hernandez as his priority target.
However, they have been decimated by injuries to key players through the first half of the season despite their continued good form, with the likes of Santi Cazorla and Francis Coquelin ruled out for an extended period of time. ‘Unfortunately we can not announce anything at the moment about this player because nothing has been concluded’.
Wenger said: “I will be busy [in the January transfer window] for sure”.
The Gunners top the Premier League table going into the new year after their home victory over Bournemouth on Monday, December 28. “We will be busy”.
“It is not impossible”, Wenger said, when asked whether Debuchy could leave. Injuries have also badly affected Wilshere’s worldwide career, although he scored twice for England in a 3-2 Euro 2016 qualifier against Slovenia in June. “Patience is not a quality we have much of in society, but you need it in football”.
When asked specifically about Egypt global Elneny, Wenger was more coy amid speculation the 23-year-old had already undergone a medical: “You know more than I do”, he said.
We have to raise above that and show we can deal with all that [pressure].
‘We can have great solidarity in every single game and after that we have a chance.
However, Wenger insists that Wilshere is still on course to return in February and is confident he will have plenty of time to prove his fitness to Roy Hodgson ahead of next summers European Championships.
