Arsene Wenger: playing Sanchez at Norwich was the right decision
Should the injuries to Cazorla, Sanchez and Koscielny prove to be serious, there would be a total of nine Arsenal first-team players sidelined. He barely managed to get any rest after that, when he was thrown into the mix of the domestic season, playing nearly every game in the Premier League and in the Champions League.

Wenger admitted last week Sanchez complained of a tight hamstring.
“And it has nothing to do with the fact that he can not predict injuries because deep inside he knows he should not have done it”.
The Gunners have a match at home against Sunderland next weekend before a cut-throat Champions League match against Olympiakos four days later. “You are there to play”, Henry was quoted as saying by skysports.com on Monday.
“They are ready to step up so obviously every single player on the bench can do the same job as every single player in the starting eleven”. We should have played our game better than we did. “We looked the team more likely to win it”.
Centre-back Koscielny went off clutching his hip in the early stages, while Sanchez, who set up Mesut Ozil for Arsenal’s goal, departed with around half an hour remaining after hurting his right hamstring. The Ox’s directness causes so many problems for his opponents, not only because he puts them on the back foot, but because he runs at them with his ferocious pace and strength, making him more than a handful for most players.
“I thought, at the time, the game was won against Dinamo Zagreb”, he said.
Sunday was Ramsey’s first start since making his comeback from injury, and the 24-year-old was delighted to secure another valuable 72 minutes against Norwich.
That was the result of disciplinary action by manager Alex Neil, who fined the forward and pushed him down the pecking order after Grabban walked out of the team hotel on the eve of a League Cup tie in September as a result of the collapse of a transfer to Bournemouh. “But I hope it’s not a bad injury for him and that he’ll be back soon”.
Staying in the game also pleased Robbie Brady, after the Irishman added another 90 minutes to the growing evidence of just how much value for money his summer arrival is providing.
But, while he was often a spectator, we feel Cech deserves credit not only for the saves he made, but the way in which he commanded his penalty area and never allowed Norwich to apply sustained pressure.
They will really miss both players in the coming weeks.
