Theo Walcott has reached 100 career goals after finding the net in Arsenal’s 4-1 victory over Hull City on Saturday.

Arsenal’s Chilean striker Alexis Sanchez celebrates after scoring during the English Premier League football match between Hull City and Arsenal at the KCOM Stadium in Kingston upon Hull, north east England on September 17, 2016.

Wenger said after the game: “I feel overall it was a positive performance after playing away in the Champions League and away again today”.

“We started well, dominated and were fluent”.

Arsenal’s problems from the penalty spot continued as Sanchez missed the second of the four they’ve been awarded this season after Hull defender Jake Livermore was ordered off shortly before half-time for handball.

“I want to know what happened and for it not to happen again”.

“Well, look, I started him past year because I’ve seen that there’s something in him that is quality of vision, quality of give and go, his movement”, Wenger said of Iwobi.

Jakupovic parried a cross-goal shot from Walcott straight to Iwobi, whose follow-up effort found the back of the net via the slightest of touches off Sanchez.

“At 11 versus 11 I felt we played well”.

“After that it was 11 against 10 and down to us to be serious and not concede any goals”.

Wenger said: “It’s only his second game since he came back from injury but today he had more presence in the game, more confidence when he takes the ball and he can be very unsafe going forward”.

He scored his second goal of the season to put the Gunners 2-0 up, and the Frenchman was glad to see his faith in the 27 year old repaid.

“You can’t take the scoreline away, but what we can take away from the game is that at certain points we were well alive in it”, said Phelan. “When you come to a new club and there’s a lot of competition going on you look for confidence and to show that you’re a good player”.

“That’s what I would say and it’s a little bit worrying”. Sometimes people say it’s a lot easier when teams go down to 10 men but it is very hard to be honest, because you need to break them down.
