Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger believes there has never been a Premier League quite like the current one, in terms of the sheer amount of world-class managerial talent now plying its trade in the English top-flight.

Arsene Wenger is keen to add cover at the back with Germany star Per Mertesacker ruled out for five months after knee surgery, while Laurent Koscielny is set to miss the start of the campaign following his Euro 2016 exploits.
“We are still on the market for players”.
However, while Cech feels that money must be spent this summer, the goalkeeper stressed that it is only worth buying players who will actually improve the squad. “With Per being out, we are a bit short on the experience front and we are looking to bring somebody in”. “Today you have to be very strong inside the club when you are responsible, not just to buy [for the sake of buying]”, he said.
Arsenal fans are desperate for the Gunners to sign Mahrez and one plucky supporter chased Wenger down the beach yesterday begging him to move for the winger. There’s always a wave of opinions.
But asked about the possibility to sign Mahrez and Lacazette, Wenger replied: “The best way to conclude transfers is not to talk about them, which is very hard in the press conference!” If you look at the market in Europe, there’s a lot of money available but not many players who really strengthen the teams.
“Leicester lost three games in the season, it is maybe not a glamorous name but it is not the name that wins you the Championship”.
