Artist Beezy Bailey: ‘I never thought David Bowie would die’
There has been speculation Bowie hinted at his illness with his album title, reported music magazine NME. The concert, titled “The Music of David Bowie”, was already arranged before the star’s death, but was originally intended as a tribute show.

Bowie’s death came just two days after he celebrated his 69th birthday, with his last record, Blackstar, also released on Friday (08Jan16). It’s followed at No. 11 by “Under Pressure“, Bowie’s indelible collaboration with Queen, which was played more than 1.374 million times.
While countless tributes continue to pour in for the late, great David Bowie, the singer has reportedly been cremated in NY following his death at the age of 69.
Following the very sad news of David Bowie’s death, we can now confirm that Angie Bowie has been informed off camera by her representatives.
But the event that organisers spent the last seven months planningwill now memorialise Bowie’s life and his influence on music.
Bowie also made it cool to be different.
Desperate not to disappoint his fans despite his poor health, the musician attended the December premiere of his musical in NY but “collapsed from exhaustion” behind the scenes.
It is thought the Brixton-born singer’s funeral will be held in NY, where he moved to in 1993 after marrying his second wife, Iman, and where they raised their daughter, Alexandria. “And we wanted to take a second here and just look back at a few of the fun moments I had with David Bowie over the years”, the comedian continued.
In the end, Visconti – like Bowie fans everywhere – can only wonder at what might have been, had he lived.

Spotify said Monday that streams of Bowie’s songs had increased by 2,700% compared to the day before.
