Later in the evening, The Go Go’s reunited to perform their hit “We’ve Got The Beat”.
Celine Dion was given the Icon Award. “I want to be so strong in front of my family and my kids”. “Music has been my passion since before I can nearly remember”. After her unbelievable piece, Dion received her award from her son, Rene-Charles, and immediately broke down in tears. And they certainly delivered on Sunday night at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas with a political statement about transgender rights, a tender Prince tribute and Dion’s return after personal losses. She’s earned her place and right to do whatever the hell she wants, including standing on stage to sing a song in honor of her friend.
After a public back-and-forth with her former producer Dr. Luke (who she’s now engaged with in a messy court battle) about her scheduled BBMAs performance, his label Kemosabe Records reversed course and approved her Bob Dylan tribute performance.
Justin Bieber gave an excellent performance that started off in a box with projecting lights all over it, which captivated the audience while he performed “Company”. While performing “I Love Rock “n” Roll,” Spears rode a giant guitar before bridging into “Breathe On Me”, “I’m a Slave 4 U”, “Touch Of My Hand”, and finally, “Toxic”.
Pop singer Kesha’s performance at the Billboard Music Awards Sunday night, moved the audience to tears.
The singer along with pal Nick Jonas, were slated to bring their 2016 Honda Civic Tour Featuring Demi Lovato & Nick Jonas: Future Now to Charlotte and Raleigh on 30 June and 2 July (16), respectively, but they also made a decision to pull out of the gigs to show their support for their LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) friends and fans.
Indeed, the 57-year-old singer looked elegant on stage, but fans on Twitter seemed to be divided when it came to her performance.
But asking Madonna to sing a ballad only shows that she doesn’t have the vocal chops to pull off a highly emotional tune that demands considerable range.
The spirit of the superstar who died on April 21 permeated the awards show. The icons collaborated on “Love Song” in 1989.
The video also has a dizzying effect added to it. Images of Adele dancing were layered on top of each other in what looked like multiple takes and angles as she sang.
While another added: “Let me be the first to say.she sounds very bad”. “This record was quite a mission to make”.
Since she is on tour and wasn’t there to pick up her trophies for Billboard’s top 200 album and top artist, Adele sent video messages of thanks to the award ceremony.
A user took to the micro-blogging site to say, “Was anyone else insulted by Madonna’s choice of clothing for the Prince tribute tonight?” Rest in peace. I love him so much.
He said: “I didn’t know him but he was very close to me. He’ll always be an inspiration”.
The Weeknd, the night’s big victor with eight, dedicated the first award to Prince, the Grammy-winning pop superstar best known for such hits as “Purple Rain” and “Let’s Go Crazy”, who died at his Minnesota home in April aged 57.
She then thanked everyone including her late husband, whom she believed would “continue to watch over me from up above”.
Ludacris and Ciara hosted the show.
“Unlike the Oscars, we actually have black nominees”, Ludacris said to laughs.
She was pipped to the award by rapper Wiz Khalifa who scooped the award for See You Again, which features Charlie Puth.

Apart from GLAAD, the former “The X Factor” judge and mentor also got the admiration of more fans, Mic.com reported.
